Electric Bikes

The electric bicycle, also called an e-bike is beginning to replace the common bike in some countries around the world. The difference between an e-bike and a normal bike is the fact that the electric bicycle has an electric motor which powers the vehicle.

Special conversion kits for transforming your old bike into an electric motorbike are available on the market and they include a battery and a console which shows the speed, battery level and pedaling assistance. A conversion kit usually ads up to 9 more kg to the weight of your bicycle.

Electrical bikes are limited to a power of maximum 750 watts and o a speed of maximum 32km/h. The higher the power of the engine, the faster the bicycle. The costs of an electric bike are smaller than those of a scooter, a motorcycle or a car. Calculated for a month of use, the cost of the power needed to recharge the battery is less than the cost for the public transportation in an urban area. The electric bikes are very efficient for long distance rides with moderate costs. Some electric bikes can be folded and be easily transported in a car.

The electric bike doesn't need to be registered and it can be used on any type of road. There are also e-bikes for Cross Country. It is also very silent and environment friendly, the disadvantage of an electrical bike is the weight of the bicycle which can reach almost 24 kg and the fact that it reduces the effort of pedaling to a minimum, especially when used in the city areas. But the biggest turn off for many e-bike lovers is the price, which can easily exceed 1000 dollars. Electrical bikes can easily suit any lifestyle and recreational taste and provide a fun, enjoyable and healthy outdoor activity.
